Organic Produce Manager

Flatbush Food Co-op is seeking a dynamic, experienced candidate for the position of Produce Manager. This position will oversee the selection, pricing, promotion, and stocking of organic produce to meet department objectives for sales, margin, turns, labor and customer service.

Must be able to negotiate with suppliers for favorable prices, terms, quality and delivery; Review invoices for accuracy, price changes, product additions and get credits from suppliers when applicable. Must ensure a clean, growing, and well maintained produce department with exceptional quality. Supervisory experience with hiring, training, evaluating and directing. Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes nights and weekends. Must be familiar with organic and locally grown produce. Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly during shift.

Desire to work within the diverse and unique organizational culture of a natural food co-op is preferred.
